C280 vs C230K differences & reliability

C280 vs C230K differences & reliability
I understand this topic has lightly been touched on before but was hoping for some more feedback. Reason being is I have two vehicles I am seriously looking at purchasing and figure the community would offer better insight compared to your typical edmunds reviews...which most seem to complain about labor costs on smaller issues.
Anyhow I am looking at these two cars:
1998 C280 with 85k miles. Very clean car.
1999 C230K with 83k miles. Also looks to be very clean.
Price difference is about $1500 between the two and am really trying to justify the extra costs. What are the main points of concern for the C230k? My understanding is the C280 is very reliable. From searches and some reading I have done the main problems for the c230k seem to be:
Windshield wiper motor
MAF sensors
Fuel sending unit
Most those items aren't too expensive to replace. I have a good amount of mechanical experience working on german and high horsepower japanese car so those items doesn't scare me too much. I am more concerned with major issues regarding the 2.3 supercharger. Would prefer any feedback on that. My understanding is that suspension, transmission, and electrically they are a very similar car besides the engine and slightly less amenities in the interior. Thank you anybody for feedback!
