So while playing tag with a chevelle SS a few days back I realized a major failing with our cars. Glacial upshifts. I would upshift at about 5000rpm expecting it to be slow and I would still bang the rev limiter before it would complete the shift. I noticed I also loose more power for longer than when it does it on its own. What gives? Is there any way to fix this?

Nothing short of installing a manual tranny from Europe or trying to Frankenstein in an SLK tranny into the car.
