Hi all,
I need an opinion. My car's clear coat is starting to peel in some spots along the pillars and pretty much my front end (bumper and hood) have rock chips from stuff getting kicked up on the roadways. As well as the right fender, there are some paint chips. I went to a body shop, one I usually go to for repairs and he estimated one grand just for the front end, which included sanding down and repainting. Is that a good deal? Anyone have any experience with repainting their body?
Some people told me to go to Maaco. I'm not sure if I should check that out or not...? Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I get my front bumper repainted about once a year because of rock chips. They know me so they only charge $100 each time. You should be able to get a really good paint job for the entire car for 1000 dollars so yes, that is high. Even if the front end doesn't come out perfect, for 175 or 200 dollars (whatever Maaco charges) You can always just get it done again.
