Quality of ride: 18"s v 19"s

I'm still undecided re 18"s or 19"s.
Is there a perceivable difference in the quality of the ride between the two?

My C280 is about to undergo some major cosmetic changes and I wondering whether I'll be needing a kidney belt if I go with 19"s!!!

Obviously I'll be lowering the car to enhance the look and this will no doubt harden the ride. I 'm just hoping the W202 chassis is good enough to absorb/conceal the newfound bounciness.

Anyone got any good/bad experiences they're willing to share?

19's is pretty big on a lowered w202. you'll have rubbing im told and need to roll fenders to avoid all that. theres a guy here who has 19's fitted to his heavily modded w202, jon pek or something~ might want to hear his info on ride quality but i imagine its prolly bumpy as !@#$.

19's

Henry47 has ill a$$ lowenhart 19's and they look very tucked, but i dunno if they rub...

turning will prolly be tough and driveways but hey, take turns and dips at 2mph and u'll be fine... it's all about the angle... LOL...

seriously though, 19 is friggin huge on w202's -- especially lowered. and unless ur looking to look like a 4x4, i take it ur gonna lower ur car...

here's his ride...

I imagine it will still be smooth. I think the Mercedes suspension is one of the best at still having a comfortable ride after lowering. I'm about to have 18's on my car so I will let you know how it is when they're on.

After lowering your mercedes you are no longer using mercedes parts. Stiffer springs and shocks are required for lowering. You will feel every pebble on the road with 17 18 or 19 they get worst as it goes up. If you go with 19's you will need to do a lot of fender rolling. Henry car has been rolled many times.

I don't feel every pebble, though I still have some meat in between the road and my wheels. I know you have to have better roads in California than we do here. It's really just the city of Auburn that's bad. Everywhere else is fine. Well, I'm rambling now......

I do a fair bit of driving (usually very hard) so I think 18s is the most logical choice. Thanks for your help guys!
