Auto vs EC

Hi all,
I was wondering what the difference between Auto and EC was. Usually when I want to turn on the AC, i hit auto, otherwise it's in EC. I feel power loss when trying to accelerate when I have it in Auto , but in EC, everything seems like normal. Thanks.

I believe EC stands for economy. As far as I know, its just a vent that brings outside air in. Thats why there's no engine lag with it on versus AC, which is obviously full air conditioning. The REST button is to keep the heater blowing hot air after the car is shut off, actually a very cool feature.

Yup...I know about the REST feature...use that once in a while up here in New England. I just read that some people leave it in Auto all the time...is that for auto climate, like when it reaches the temp in the cabin, it will turn down the fans, etc? I'm not sure if EC does that?

ok, when you have AUTO on, it will control the climate of the car to the temp you set on the dash. I think EC just goes till you turn it off. With AUTO on though you can control where the air comes out, i.e. out of the floor or only out of the dash vents.

I've been able to control the air even with EC on. Is it because of the compressor that kicks in that i loose engine power with Auto, even if I have it set on like 70 degrees, because usually with hot weather, i run it in the high 50's, low 60's...
