HID causes power surges on my Gauge Cluster
hi dudes,
just installed HID on my headlights and fog lights. the fog lights works fine and does not have any effects on the sensor which sends busted bulb sign on the cluster. but when i turn the headlights on; it creates a power surge which causes all the warning lights to blink and gauges to die down momentarily and the clock to reset to 1:00.
what seems to be the problem with it? am i at risk of busting my gauges?
i hope you guys can help.
TIA.

Had the same problem before, the electrician connected a relay ro ir but I'm not really sure why since HID already have their own ballast but it sure did work fine for me. Never had the cluster problem after that.

thanks 'chard.
i'll have my electrician install a relay as you recommended.
