Window noises

Any of you guys experience annoying noises when you roll your windows up or down...primarily the front side windows? It's the velvet inbetween the actual door and the window that makes the harsh squeaking noise. This happens usually in warm to hot weather because it makes the velvet sticky or something, so you guys experience this or is just me, and what can i do to fix this...?

I have the same problem on my passenger and driver's side. Neither of the rear ones doit, though. Has anyone tried cleaning the tops of them, does that work?

hhahahah.. LOL i too have exactly the same problem!! could it be a design flaw??.. the front passenger's window squeals when it is hot outside. but in winter it does not squeak. I've tried by spraying wd40 on the velvet thing but i dont reccomend you people to do it because it will make things worst. I' ve heard that you have to replace the velvet things because they are worn. when it is hot, the glass window expands just the right amount to be in more contact with the velvet thing, so if it is worn, it will touch rubber and will squeal.
i'm going to replace it next weekend and see if thats the problem.

hahaha, wow, i cant believe all you guys have that same problem, it doesnt happen to any of my other cars, just the c280...its probably with the velvet becoming extremely sticky in hot weather. yeah, let me know what happens after you replace the velvet...it only happens on the driver and front passenger window too, the rear ones are fine.

Same deal, drivers side window. Very embarrassing noise. I sprayed on some silicon lubricant and ran the window up-and-down about 50 times. It cured the noise but made a grade A mess.

Based on some other members tips from this forum, I applied some silicon spary through window channel with roll down all the way.

Noise is gone completely!

This also causes scratches in the tint film if you tint your windows. There is a product called MOLE skin that adheres to the felt and make it so the glass slides easier and will not squeek or scratch the window film. Over a period of time the felt becomes brittle and will even scratch the glass. I had replaced my film 2 times before I happen to run across the product.
