my car tends to rev/surge when idling I was told it was the throttle and the air flow meter is faulty I am looking for an opinion from MBtech,at present I am fairly new to a Mercedes. Also my car has a problem when going in reverse can anyone help.....

The stupid mass meters in these cars are awful. I don't know anyone who is still on their original one. You will have to take it in the get the OBDII computer read to see what the code is. Autozone does this for free. So what's the problem with reverse?

me!!! touch wood it's still ok!!!
but i Do always keep the MAS clean by using the contact cleaner to spray into the tiny tips inside the MAS.
it's a kinda thermo sensor indeed. so the dust which stick onto the sensor will affect the accuracy and sometimes damage the stuff also!!!
frequently spray the contact cleaner into it will keep the thing in good condition.
DON'T use the oil based one!!!!
i'm using the CRC CO Contact Cleaner.

I think part of the problem is the oil from my K&N filter is getting on my MAS. It went out right after I changed filters. I think it was TP that said he had the same problem.
