Question Kompressed.

About the pictures I posted. The car is a very special model to me, about one of the last of the w202 C-classes to be made from Germany in 2000. I took delivery of it in September that year. It is fast, but not comparable to the C36, C43, or very rare C55 AMG cars of the w202 range.

My opinion

Hi all,
just got back from out of country.

by the way regarding the pic,

in asia specially south east asia, here is the list of c class from 94-2000, c180, c180 classy, c200, c200 classy, c200 elegance, the only kompressor engine is on the clk ,
thats as far as i know... correct me if im wrong
so and looking from the plate of the benz that is Thailand license plate.

see in south east asia, you can find any kind of emblem, but im not accusing thats only emblem, so the only way to find out , take a picture of the engine bay...

Post my car

I am happy to know my Brabus wheels are liked. My car was a special edition. Normally V-6's are not sold on the C-class because of the 200% to 300% tax imposed on imported cars in the country I reside in. And yes, my car is a 2.4 liter V-6.

Exclamation Wheels

You should upgrade your wheels Merclover. You would be surprised by such an upgrade on the car's handling. Even if you just went for 17 inch 225's. It would still be good!

yea im planning on changing them this summer. but wont such big tires increase fuel consumption and risk of aquaplanning a lot more?? i do use it as a regular driver and would be quite buggered to see the car only does like 12 mpg

Post MOre about wheels

You are right merclover about the gas mileage going down. But I would have to say that the chage isn't significant enough to worry about. The most important factor is your driving habit. Do you frequently accelerate hard on your car? And are your local surroundings trafficated and hilly? These factors will play a much more significant role on the fuel consumption on your car than an upgrade in wheel size. I use my car daily as well, and with my Dunlop sport 9000's, I don't really aqua plane that much.

ok cool then i read a spanish motor mag a few days ago and it said in big bold writing "BIGGER TIRES WILL MAKE YOUR CAR HANDLE WORST, WILL BE MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO AQUAPLANNING AND WILL INCREASE GAS CONSUMPTION"
lol... i guess they are wrong

I don't know Merclover, but common sense says more rubber on the road usually increases your handling since grip on the road is more readily available. NOT less! As for gas consumption, I don't have the facts precisely, but I don't see how an inch or more on a wheel will affect mileage that greatly. Driving habits and conditions should still be the greater factor to consider.
