1997 C220 Diesel Dashboard electric problem
Hi Guys
I am about to remove my frontage assembly to access my heating and instrument cluster to try to resolve a bad case of "I will put your heater and instrument lights on when I feel like it!!"
The heater blower seems to come on at will. Will usually stay on until the next start up. Can stay on for days then will only come on with a sharp smack on the dash panel side. This vibration may also turn on shy lighting bulbs on the speedo console, (or turn them off, if they are on!).
I suspect it could be dust or fluff on the heater switch rheostat, loose contacts or earth.
Before I commit to this surgery I wonder if any of you know of way to aquire a wiring layout for this area to indicate likely positions of earth connections etc. to minimise pain & disruption.
Cheers in anticipation.
