Cold weather affects gear shift?

When it's cold I notice this. I'll start the car up and then put it into reverse. When I put it into reverse and then back into drive I notice lots of tension/tougher to move. Is this something with a bushing somehwere that I need to know about? Replace? Thanks. Once the car is warmed up it doesn't do it and once it's warm out it doesn't do it. Thanks.

I think its just because it's still cold and not warmed up yet. I notice the same thing with mine. I've asked my service advisor and he says its normal when u first start up the car (cold start) It's more "jerky" and takes a little longer to get into gear, but once it's warmed up, its fine.

Oh, I actually mean the shifter itself. When I pull the gear shift down to reverse or down to drive it seems to give me resistance when it's cold outside. The colder the temp the more resistance I get. See what I mean?

Ah, i get what your saying now. Hmm, now that I can't explain...I haven't seen or experienced that b4 with cold weather. Maybe it is a linkage somewhere. Have you asked you tried asked your service advisor?

Thanks.

No I haven't really looked into it because the cold weather rarely effects it. I only remembered it because ir was a little chilly here lately.

I have never spoken to any MB dealer about my car. I have had bad experiences with them, and that is enough for me. If anybody has had this happen I'd love to hear your outcome.
