I had my c230 crankshaft seal replaced at my mechanic about half year ago, this cost me around $400. I found out that front crankshaft seal, camshaft position sensor seal, and oil level sensor on the oil pan are the three common spots for c230 to have a oil leak when approach 100K. My friend has a 97 c230 only has 70K already can see some oil build up infront of the oil pan, same thing happened on my 2002 c230 kompressor. My mechanic told me its beacause german car runs very hot, therefore rubber seals get harder and start to develop leak..
