My curse control on the C280 failed today. The car has 87K and newly purchased by me a month ago. It was working fine this morning.

It will not set in accel or decel mode. Going to off or resume mode then to set has no effect.

Any thoughts as to where to start looking?

i never use cruise control and actually i dont thnk i ever engaged it to tell you the truth, lol

did you switch rims recently or get new tires? Have you done suspension work recently?

No suspension or tire work done on car.

The cruse control seems to be intermittent. Some times it works and some times it doesn't. No correlation with temperature as yet.

This may be obvious, but: Did you check its circuit protection? The main circuit breaker box is in the driver's side of the engine bay, aft end. The cb for the cruise control is number 12. It is a 10 amp cb.
Sometimes those buggers "look" fine, but they are burned anyway!! I had that happen on a different cb, the one for the power outlet/cell phone charger connection (aka cigarette lighter, yaack!)
