Does anyone know how to change the shift linkage in a 97' C280 W202?? Do I have to drop the tranny?? I removed the plate and couldn't get to it. Simple item but hard to get to. I have a small leak and was advised this may be the culprit. I took it to a mechanic and they said it was the park interlocking cables but the dealer says that it will be the shift linkage 9/10 times so I went that route first. It doesn't leak all the time but when it gets really hot after a long drive it expands and leaks through onto the plate which will make it smoke.
