ok thanks...

ps --

this dude on EBAY (DAN DA DA DUN!) yeah i know cheap imitations...

wants to sell a wannabe one to me for 90.00 bux shipped. and when i told him about cheap a$$ imitations he said that his were guaranteed, and if i didn't like it, i could return it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2417106181

do u think it's worth it? he said the strips are plastic with metal/chrome on top -- same as our original oem grill... your strips going horizontally look pure chrome steel.

i saw ur old grill it was wack how they tricked u. u think this guy's stuff is a fraud too, or cheap???

thanks

sol

go for it

the pic that he has is the OEM one, i can tell cuz there are lil grooves on the top which is exactly the same as the oem one
also if you look carefully thru the lil grill fins, there is a black plastic blocker on the top left side. oem one has that too.

the replica cheap one looked slightly diff and the quality was horrible. if you really want to be sure tho have him take a pic of the inner grill side for the serial number. an oem one should have a small mercedes-benz star with the number 210 888 something

imitation ones are made by holli, or some other stuff

the oem one are chrome strips as well but they fit perfectly in place. the problem with the replica is that the strips did not fit perfectly in place and moved around if you touched them. people had to superglue the strips in place.

donno if you want to go thru that, but some ppl can live with it to save 100 bucks

i just know theres alot of cool stuff for your car on ebay, but its not oem most of the time and the seller wont be quick to reveal that to you, you gotta ask and know what your talking about for him to give in.

when iw as looking for clear corners on ebay (the 20 buck ones) i kept asking if they were oem ones made by BOSCH. ppl kept beating around the bush and after my extensiev questions they finally revealed that it was made in taiwan or something. i wasnt going to take the chance with getting cheap corners cuz of all the stories about how improper they fitted, water logging in the housing issue, popping off during highway driving, etc. so i just bought mine from evosport the next day, oem ones for 65

i wouldnt be surprised if it were the same for grills, but those are just my thoughts, if he is offering a free return if you dont like hte product, i'd try it at least.

thanks a million bro

thanks a lot for all your help and info. i'll give it a try. if it's wack, i'll return it and get an oem one. i told him about all the probs and he says, "i wouldn't want to sell a bunk product myself," so we'll see his credibility.

i know it's not oem and replica, but i'll check it. if i have to deal with superglue and bs then he can eat one.

if not, then i'll be cool. either way thanks.

i know the pics arent clear, they were taken with my old digital cam which was like 1 megapixel (Crap) but take note of the 2nd from first pic where you see a close up of the chrome strip. it doesnt sit properly on the black plastic. it actually moved around when i touched it. the last 2 pics are closeups of the edges... clearly not cut properly and its edges are all jagged and crap. looks like someone used a handsaw to cut it but couldnt get it off all the way so they just broke it off with their hand.
