Arrow Swimming pool in trunk
Today I lifted up the carpet in the trunk only to smell must.

Upon checking around and finding smell areas of rust, I looked left of the wheel and found a 2" Deep pool of water!!!

Where would this much water appear from?

I did notice 2 screw holes were open, exposed to the road, but could that much water travel through, and drip down?

drain the water or suck it out and then plug up those holes with some putty and see if you still have water there after a week

Also check the seals around the trunk lid & rear window. Water flows downhill.

BBW, maybe if we had a picture of your trunk, we would be better able to help you. Especially take pictures of the rust as you will need to sand that down.

Hey no worries

What I meant was, surely that much water couldnt have entered from only 2 tiny holes?


Havent got a camera there are 2 holes on the left hand side, on the right they are filled in, I will have another look at post exact details.

Question Sunroof drain tube????????
Just a guess,

But in some BMW's, the sunroof has a little drain tube that, if plugged up, kinked or otherwise obstructed, can somehow cause water in the trunk...

So, do Mercedes Benz have a similar set up? I don't know, i just got a 94 C280 a couple of months ago and am still learning...

Anyhow, just a thought...
