1999 Dash LED issues
Gents-
I did a search and found this question posed a couple of times with no responses. I did find lots of chatter about dash lights that weren't, as it were, illuminating.
Daughter's car and the LED read out for time, temp and trip odometer don't fully display all the numbers. All the lights associated with gauges work fine. The local wrench said the entire cluster had to be ordered through the dealer so that the odometer could be re-calibrated to the actual milege on the car. $1,000 +/-, they say.
Some of the respones here seem to indicate that bulb replacement solves the problem. Not really clear if this solution applies to her model year C230.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have this problem as well on my 2000 C230 sport. Temp display works but the odometer and gear indicator are messed up. My shop gave me the same estimate to replace entire unit (not worth it on a car with 165,000 miles).
