I have read that some of the dealers have helped pay for the replacement of the head gasket. How many of you have had that exper. and how many miles did you have on the car. Do they all fail?

You’re looking for a Goodwill reimbursement and you probably won’t find it. It’s the dealership’s Service Manager’s decision, but you can appeal that decision with the higher-ups at Mercedes. Truth be told, when the Mercedes Company was purchased they reduced the amount that they are willing to reimburse the customer. I got taken for $200 to fix part that should have been fixed when I brought my car in 3 months earlier. However, by the time I returned to have it looked at again, my warranty was up and I was left holding the bill. I wrote 18 letters to different Mercedes Execs. and got nowhere. Not even $200 off the purchase of a new Mercedes.

I had my head gasket replaced and had a few hundred taken off the labor because I had a good relationship with that dealership. I've brought in all my family and their cars, had a lot of work done at their dealership and a good relationship wit the service advisor.

So maybe if you have a good relationship with the dealership/advisor/manager, they may give u a break off the labor...
