trans fluid
Im doing a trans service on my 11/95 C220. I dont know what fluid to use. I called the dealer and they told me 95 to 96 uses Dexron III trans fluid. I called another shop they told me only use Mercedes Benz trans fluid that cost $9.00 each. Then i called up another Benz shop and they told me what the dealer said. I check my trans fluid and its clear not red like the regular trans fluid Dexron III. Im confuse. Pls help.

Not sure if the picture is correct but I see A/T fluid for you car on Importec.com for $6.09. If the picture is the exact item, it's Bilstein A/T fluid. I know this because I got that for a 1988 300CE from the same site and it was the same looking bottle. It's made in Germany, all the writings on the bottle is German, I could only make out the word Bilstein on it.
Make sure you change the A/T filter and gasket too. The A/T filter kit cost $17.32 from the same website. Free shipping over $50 and no tax unless you live in Texas.
