Recently bought a 1998, C240 sedan from Japan and has 79,000 km on the clock. Part of its VIN is WDB202026. I have traveled 3,000 km since I bought it. The history shows the car was stationery since 2010. I changed the engine oil and nothing else.
I have the following issues with it now:

1) on start up there is a spanner and a -730 that gets displayed.
2) when I start the car there is noise (just for a fraction of a second) that comes from the gearbox area(Automatic Transmission). This seems to be caused by the engine shaking on start up. It sounds like there is something grinding. The noise started about 5 days ago and its not consistent, sometimes I hear it on start up sometimes I do not. But when driving everything sounds normal.
What could be the cause of this? Some one suggested gearbox mounting bushes??
