New to forum and Benz virgin (for now)

New to forum and Benz virgin (for now)
I am looking at a '99 C230 Kompressor I want to use it as a daily driver.
The car has just over 33k original miles. I have seen the carfax and verified the mileage. It has had two previous owners, both in New Jersey. I'm in NC.
I have researched this forum for a couple days and this is looking like a decent investment so far. Everything on the car looks new inside and out. the price is a little out of range but I assume that I should expect that based on the low mileage. Local, established dealer is asking 10k.
Any advice on what I can look for or find out pre-purchase would be greatly appreciated. I already know that immediately I will do wheel upgrade, some suspension work and possibly exhaust but I need to get a little more comfortable with buying a 12 year old car first.

OK. Maybe I should be more specific. What would I look for, listen for when I go to inspect again?
I did recheck the carfax and the vin is a "W" so it was mfg in Germany and not South Africa.
Am I wasting my time in here?

Please. Any assistance with possible red flags here would be appreciated. Buying without warranty is not something I have experience with. I think this could be a good investment and with everything I have read here, quite possibly something I can play with and enjoy for some time.
