Startup problems
Once in a while, when I start my car, it will start up, start shaking then die. The RPM needle will go above 500RPM's, then drop then die. Anyone know why this happens?
My dad thinks its the air to fuel mixture ratio, maybe not getting enough of something? Cuz it's not the battery, pretty sure of that. Thanks!

Great...will it give me warning when it's totally gone? like CE light comes on or something? I don't feel like dropping that kinda cash right now if it's still working, try to hold out till it dies maybe?
How much is it? $600?

No, I think it's like $280 but dealers like to charge 3 hours labor for the five minutes it takes to install it. I have the receipt still. It really says 3 hours labor and diagnostics on it. I should have just replaced it myself and then taken it in to Autozone to get the check engine light reset.
It may not be the MAS meter on yours. I'm just giving you an idea of what it could be. It could also be the IAT sensor.

This problem only happens once in a while as well. I called my service advisor, but he was on vacation. He should be back next week, so I'll call again to get an appointment to get it checked out. Let you know what they find out.

Since the last time I posted, the starting problem never arose until tonight. I started the car and it was idling below 500 RPMs...but didn't die this time. It just kept hovering below 500, sounding like it was about to die. I thought the problem went away!

had that problem before...
I had that problem before on my c280, it would have a hard time starting, hesitation and so on. we replas the mas, the throttle actuator and it turned out to be the fule pressure regulator. its really easy to check if it is bad. just pull off the vaccum tube connected to the fpr and check for gas if the is gas there it is bad. easy $40 replacement. try it out. if its your throttle actuator i have an extra one for sale dealer charges 1200+ give me an email.

Apparently, my service advisor told me that it is a O2 sensor going bad, thus producing the problem. Tho, no CE light came on? isn't the CE light suppose to come on if the O2 sensor goes?
