1999 C230 Kompressor - Stinks when I start heater for first one minute and goes away
Hi
When i start my heater, first one minute it stink badly and then smell goes away. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue. Of course I can use spary which help but I want to remove this issue permanently.

Sounds like the A/C evaporator & heater core box drain is clogged and allowing moisture to build up. This causes odor and the odor ceases when the moisture dries (i.e. running heat/cooling to evaporate the moisture.
Clear the drain of any debris, kill any odor causing mold with "Lysol" and the odor should go away.

It has been quite a while since I've done this... My 2000 C230 is wintering with my son at Penn State so I don't have the ability to just go and look at the car.
From my recollection, a "Rubber" tube was connected near the bottom of the heater box on the passenger side of the vehicle. I disconnected the tube and blew low pressure air through the tube and then up through the heater box connection. Used a flex tube from an old WD40 spray can to route disinfectant up into the heater box through the bottom connection. Then re-connected the tube when done.
When my son gets back from his winter break festivities around 1/6/12 I'll take a look to see what I forgot to state in this post...
