Yep, all of the newer models with the smart key (and even some previous ones I hear) can do this. If you bought your car new, you need to smack your dealer upside the head for not telling you this upon delivery. That's the whole point of delivery - to tell you all the cool little features. If you bought the car used then there's no one to blame, I guess. And yeah it IS pretty damn cool. Great way to get the hot air out of the car on a hot day before you get in. ;0)

I dunno... seems like someone should take responsibility for not reading the manual.

I knew that you could roll all the windows and the sunroof up with the key in the lock position, but I did not know you could rool them down with the lock button. I'll have to try that. Thanks for the info.

Are you SURE it's not in the manual? I've had a 1995 Mercedes and it was in that manual... it's also in my 1999 manual (and obviously on newer cars).

I guess you didn't know you can pop the trunk too?

Oh my God... Can't believe we're having this discussion......
I have a 99 manual and it says it in there.....

Also, if you go on the MB website, it shows the functionality of the SmartKey in a SHOCKWAVE format.

Go try it folks.. It's got pretty good range too.. Probably better range that the RF transmission..

if you have the keyless entry key (smartkey or the previous flip open one), you can press and hold the unlock button (unlock on the smartkey and the same button on the older key) when the car is locked to open all the window + the roof if you have it. To close all the window you'll have to point the smart key to the infared receiver on the door handle while pressing and holding the lock button Or for the older key, you'll have to manually use the key hole on the door handle to lock the door and hold on to the position in order for the window to close.

note: when closing all the window, only when you are right next to the car will work. Opening all the window however you will be able to do it as far as your key remote will work.

the guys with smartkey they of course have that function, but witht he older infrered remote which only has an open/close button, i didnt expect that functionality was on my car..im very proud now...
scorchie, you can pop the trunk too??? in a 95?? how?
oh and i find this very funny.. what is the "panic" button for ? LOL it sounds like a sort of button which activates an ejector seat just before crashing!!

I have that feature too in my 95 C280 (without keyless entry), windows roll up when you hold key in lock position, and they roll doen when you hold it in the unlock. My father had a 95 E200 with the IR remote that had the same feature through the remote as well.....Most BMW's made in the 1990's have that feature too.........

Sorry, AMG models don't get all the luxuries of the regular C Class. We get smoother (slower) acceleration, smoother (poor handling) ride and real wood (not that plastic black and gray stuff).

true.... amg may have more power and sports features but when the time comes for relaxed luxurious trips..... nothin like a good ol' stock regular model......

NARCI: to open the windows and sunroof with the old key you just do the reverse of what u would do to close them. just press the open button and keep it pressed aiming it to the rear view mirror in the interior. in about 2 seconds all windows and sunroof will open
regarding the famous and funny panic button:
dont u just have to open the car to turn the alarm off??

The panic button is for an EMERGENCY. Like say a car jacker or mugger is trying to hurt you or get your keys. YOU PRESS THE PANIC BUTTON it makes the car alarm go off so people notice you I guess and see what's going on. It's on alot of other car alarms also. That's what my panic button does at least. Maybe you're the second owner and lets just say the previous owner was Inspector Gadget and the panic button on your alarm remote sets off the ejecter seat that he had put in custom. THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL THE PANIC BUTTON DO THAT.

...that's definitely not true. C36/C43 can be had with Burl walnut trim instead of the carbon fiber trim. In fact I think that the C43 came with the burl walnut trim as the standard feature. Every AMG model will get much more standard features that will cost extra on the regular model. Also, the AMG model gets nappa leather instead of the regular leather.

The C43 does come with Burlwood Walnut dashes. So does the C36. It's the C-class SPORTS that come with carbon fiber dashes.
