hi
i just bought a 98 c230 last weekend (silver)
and i want to get rid of the tape holder where did you find the regualr little cubby thing that goes in the hole.
did you take it out yourself is it hard?

i should have dug a little deeper in the fourm before i asked the question.. i just ordered one ! now is there a risk of messing any thing up when you change it.. i took the screws out but the tape thing doesent want to just sllide out..what am i missing

It will not just slide out when you take off the two screws. If you look where it is flush at the top of the cassette holder, you have to put a flat head screw driver into the top of it and pry down a little bit (not too much force) and then u can slide it out. There's an indent at the top where it kind of clicks into the console area, so u need to get that indent down then slide out.
