antenna cable..98 C230

Am reception really sucks in my 98 C230 w/ rear window antenna....Fm is no bargain either. I have decided to try and install a manual retracting black antenna in the trunk. Last night I removed the left rear trunk liner and lo and behold I found what looks like a small screw on antenna cable taped to the inside left rear quarter panel. Is this really an antenna cable for the auto antenna option?? Can I use an adapter to connect an after market antenna to this? Does it also terminate up behind the radio?? I'm hoping that someone out there has already done this little mod.

That's for the cellular phone, if it has a Mini-UHF or FME connector.
