W202 Fuel Problem

My 98 C280 acted like it ran out of gas with quarter tank. Then acted like it ran out of gas with half tank. I know the gauge is correct from how many gallons it took to fill it and using my odometer. As soon as I add a gallon or so it starts and runs perfect. Any suggestions?? I've read about the tank having two chambers and not getting gas from one side to the other. I've also heard about venting issues. I'm thinking its more of the not getting gas from one side to the other. If so, how do I fix the problem? If not, how do I fix the problem?

Nope. That went out a couple years ago. Slightly different. I've found out its the sender on one side of the tank or tube between the two senders thats plugged. Thanks for the input!

My W202 have a small leak under the fuel tank on the left side in front of the rear left wheel. There is petrol smell especially in the morning. Please advise what part of the fuel tank is leaking

On passenger side in front of left wheel is where the fuel filter, fuel pump, and hoses connecting the tank to each are located.

Please oooh please explain where this so called sender and cross over tube are located!!!!!! And what steps you took to fix the problem!!! I have a 96 c280 with almost the same described problems! I've changed pump, filter, valve job done(head rebuilt), and numerous other things. My lil beast has 195k on it and I'm pretty sure that the items you described have never been checked. Thanks
