1997 sport c280 belt tensioner pulley replacement
My belt tensioner pulley need replacing because it is making a noise and I can see it move slightly. I have looked every where on the internet and I have found out that to remove the pulley you only need to remove a 15 mm nut but in every DIY or youtube video they have a 4 cylinder car, and have a lot of room. My I6 engine is long and there is not enough room, I was thinking of removing the fan shroud but I can't see a way of doing it, can someone help me or guide me through removing the fan shroud. Or is there an easier way of removing the pulley in a inline c280? ![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)

On my 96 c280 i6. If you are looking down at the fan shroud on the upper left their is a tab. Unlock it and twist it to the right. It's a twist lock that has if i'm not mistaken four lock points. That will be the first half of it. I believe the other half has two clips left and right side. Had to remove radiator and all on mine in removing the head still under reassemble mode here. lol. Hope this will help.
