Front end alignment?

My tire blew on the highway, AAA came to change it. The guy said that I need a front end alignment. The back of my two front tires were completely gone, all the way to the metal cords. Is this an easy fix or does it sound like something is seriously wrong?

The tires are very noisy and the car drifts to the right a bit but otherwise drives fine.

Any prices and opinions would be appreciated.

My wife's 2009 Toyota Avalon had that problem....it turned out she hit a curb more than once and didn't tell me, we had to replace the struts, the steering rack, the upper and lower joints and add a camber kit to the right side. It drives fine now after $2195.00 in repairs.....

FYI cars should never ever wear out the edges of the tires, if they do there is something seriously wrong...just my two cents...

Thanks!

The mechanic that I usually take it to said that the ball joints need replaced and it needs realigned, also something about the tire rods maybe need replaced too.

Pretty common on these cars, so make sure that once you get the ball joints, tie rods, and tires done, it is IMPERATIVE that you get your alignment done also. Ask for a print out for the alignment adjustments as a reference!!
