I had the unfortunate oppertunity to have my wipers just quit in the middle of a downpour a few days ago. Lucky for me I use rain-ex in the solution to wash the window so it was bad but could have been alot worse. So I take the motor out and unscrew the cover and all I see is ground up plastic from the gear. It appears that the gear (Metal Shaft) from the motor lost a spline and ate the plastic one. So I head of to the local Salv Yard and get a brand spanking new motor(must have beeb replaced) for $15 bucks. Made my day. All back together and works great. even cleaned and lubed the linkage as shown in the DIY W202 area.
