Just came back from the shop and found out why my AC intermittently dies or never comes on to begin with. Did a couple tests and the last one involved a handheld comp that yielded electromagnet ~~~ blah blah ~~~ as the issue. Pointed out to me the compressor and I see it spinning for a while, stops for 5 seconds and continues that cycle.

Quoted me $600 for part and labor to fix the issue. Is this a fair price? $200 for labor alone as he said he'll need to recharge the AC after replacing the unit if I got my own compressor.
