Can odometer mileage be corrected on replacement instrument cluster?
I have a 1996 C220 in which the instrument cluster seems to have died. none of the gauges work, though the lights and displays still work. From what I have read here it seems likely that I will have to replace the unit. I have seen used ones for sale but I want my mileage on the odometer to match the original. Can the mileage be changed to match the car? Not looking to roll back, even if I get one with less miles on it I want it to be corrected. Is this something the dealer can do?

Someone I work with regularly changes mileage on instrument clusters . I can't guarantee anything with yours , or tell you how but I know it is possible.
He used to go as far as playing with the code inside the chip - OR : He knew which chip to remove and replace with the old one .
if you post a picture of the back of your cluster I'll ask him to have a look at it
