Sounds like a pipe clanking on R/S rear

I notice the other week at the drive in that the car while standing still seemed to be shaking like someone was pushing against it.When I left the Drive in there was a loud bang and then the noise started Now I have a clanking noise from the right rear when I hit bumps. Could I have a bad shock absorber ? I've checked all the arms and joints in that area and all seem tight as can be. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance

OK so I was doing the rear brakes today and decided to use a rubber mallet to hit different things to try and simulate the sound I was getting. Well BINGO..... I found thet the left rear Sway bar Bracket had rusted and broke...thus shifting the sway bar against the body. Brackets are a Bytch to take off needs a 6.5MM allen socket to get them off. Brackets are avail at MB only(gee who would have guess it) so I fabricated a bracket out of steel bar stock and made my own.
