Hi everybody,
My 96 C220 check engine comes on when temperature goes 80C and above. Engine run fine and temperature stay between 80 to 85. Recently I changed water pump and nothing else. I am quite sure that is related to water temperature because if I let it run, before reach 80C the check engine would not light. (I reset the memory by pulling the fuses). I appreciate if somebody helps me in this matter.

I think your engine temperature is normal (80 to 85C), if your engine temperature above 95C you must worry.
For your additional information, my 95 C200 have day to day temperature is 80 to 85C.
