Break pad sensors ?

Does a 94 C220 have break pad sensors ?
Would the break light go off if it was time to get the breaks done ?

The brake pad sensors are very inaccurate IMO. I just do a pysical check from time to time.

No, the brake light will come on.

Innacurate? It comes on exactly when there's 10% left.

I agree, one of them broke in my car (wire snapped)...

Mine were pretty accurate...never snapped. Just remember to change them when u change your brakes...they can be had for like $1.50-$2.

I agree, sometimes the brake pads wear unevenly and the pad with the sensor might have more material than the pad with no sensor.

Also, some Mercedes do not even come with the sensors (my CLK55 for instance).

Finally, I was told by a knowledgeable MB tech that if your rotor has a deep lip, it could cause the sensor to come on prematurely.
