H&R Cup Kit?
Hi, I am new here and I want to lower my 2000 280 sport. What are your opinions on the H&R Cup Kit? Im putting 18's on the car and I want the wheel well to hit the tire dead on. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know where you can get the carbon fiber steering wheel for the 202? I checked brabus.com but could not find it. Thanks for the help!

Hey, thanks for responding. Can I get the cup kit and not have the wheels rub without rolling my fenders? What would you recomend? I want the cup kit but I don't want it to rub. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help. With that known, what would you suggest as the best setup. I want the car to sit as low as possible without rubbing. Im probably going to go 225/40/18 all around. Thanks!

Thanks Doug. What setup do you have? Do you have any other pics. What would you recommend to have the tire perfectly touch the top of the wheel well? Is that possible to have without any rubbing? Thank you for the help. I know im asking a lot, but I want to get it done right. Thanks!

I have 18 by 8 all around. Carlsson Springs and Bilstein Sport Shocks. If I lowered the car another 1/4 of an inch I would definately rub when I turned. Right now I only rub if I hit a huge bump while turned hard. I just think the H&R cup kit would rub like crazy with 18's.

Hi I have the cupkit on my 99 c230K and i regret the fact of buying it because the car sits really low I had to roll my front fenders and i still rub when i bust u turns or hit hard bumps so i suggest you not buying the cupkit and just go with the regular H&R sport springs with bilstein shocks thats just my 2 cents....good luck

Hey AMG230K, thanks for responding. One question though, what number pads do you have on your car in the front and the back. Have you tried going to a thicker pad?

How do you like those rims? I'm thinking about buying a set.
Brandon 24C: Here are front and back pictures of my ride height. To save from any confusion I have my stock wheels and tires on right now because I have been traveling. The 18's will be back on in a couple weeks. Just a reminder, I have Carlsson Springs and Bilstein Sport Shocks. I don't remember the pad size but I want to say 3 in front and 3 in back.

Thank you for the pictures Doug, that helps a lot! The lowering job in the back looks exactly like what I want in the back. One more question, if I was willing to roll my fenders in the front, do you think that the cup kit would work? Thanks for the help!

Maybe but you will probably have problems in other areas. I have never heard of good results out of a cup kit on a Mercedes. Every one else on this board that has suspension work done has springs and shocks and have no problems. (except for henry because he has 19's) I would just go with Brabus or something. I see them on ebay frequently.

to your qestion brandon yes I am using the highest spring pad available for the front i think its a 5 but as for the rear im also using the highest available also the rear doesnt have any problems im running 18X8 all around but as for the front you definatley need to get your front fenders rolled and still you have a problem with tire rubbing only on full u turns and on hard bumps.....DO NOT GET THE CUP KIT......Im trying to get rid of mine...LOL
