Cabin Filter Nightmare

Get this: I read all about the cabin filter and the "black lung disease". So that gets me thinking......I should probably give mine a looksy and see how mine is doing. In the meantime, I was thinking that the stealership had surely taken care of this filter on the numerous times I took my car in for maintenance. Anyways, I go out to my car thinking no problem should be dusty but no better no worse. Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! I take the panel down and push the latches to the side and pop that baby open and low and behold..............I GOT NOTHING!!!! NO Filter, just a plastic pan full of black lung disease causing dirt!!! I could not believe it. My service manager will surely hear about this one!!!

Look under the dash on the passenger side of the car. It will be up against the wall, that is the middle section of the car, it looks like a vent of some sort and that's where the cabin filter is.

Location, location, location

The cabin filter is located on the passenger side of the car below the "glove box". You will have to remove three screws from the underlying panel. The cabin filter is located just to the right and has two white pegs that slide left to right and vice versa. You will have to slide them towards the center case that holds the filter. You should be able to pull the plastic covering down and wa-la. You got your filthy cabin filter in your hand, or lack there of.

Start coughing as hard as you can to dislodge the dirt. Keep doing this until the lung cookies are no longer black. WARNING- Stop before they turn red. This indicates over coughing which like over-reving can be fatal!
