Just purchased 1995 C280 first mods?
Hey I'm craig and I just purchased a 1995 C280. Its a beautiful car only 82,000 miles, but it runs perfectly. The interior is gray, and the exterior is white. I'm not a big fan of white, but I test drove around 6 C's around the East TN area, and this was by far the best one I'd seen. And for $10,500 it was a great deal too. Any ideas of first mods? I'm not a fan of the high ground clearence, maybe a some new springs/shocks would help me with that? I don't have lots of money to spend on it. Your comments are appreciated. Here's a picture of it after I washed it.

congratulations on your purchase. If you do a simple search or just browse around this forum, you'll find many ideas that you may found interesting. Springs should cost you about $200, install for $100-200. Shocks around $75-100 each, $100-200 to install. Are you looking for only exterior mods? what about interior? engine?

Congrats Craig!. Don't worry too much about the white. I think it looks good, besides it is much easier to keep clean than a black ride. As to the mods, I would start with a set of Bosch clear corners. It is one of the cheapest and easiest mods to do - just make sure you get the Bosch ones and not some cheap aftermarket knock offs.
I would also look at tinting the windows and a new set of tires & rims (plan on spending $1000 +). Personally, I wouldn't lower the car until you replace the tires & rims.
That's a sweet ride you just got. Take care of it and it will tke care of you.

first of all, welcome to the forum!
the first mod i'd do, if you want to spend the money, is to get bigger rims. you can opt for the conservative 17 inch up to mybe the exceessive 19 inch.this is the most significant mod. it instantly changes the cars appearance. you will also notice greater handling and stiffer ride, the original car wobbles a bit too much.
i personally would recommend fitting 17 inchers. then if you have something spare, go for the shocks and springs. they are not that necessary if u dont plan on spending big bux in ur car.
you certainly did get a great deal. that 280 engine is a jewel. 6 cylinder right?

Congratualtions on your purchase, first of all. I'm only posting cause you have the same car I do. With the excpetion of the interior you're car is just like mine. The white is not so bad once you get used to it. I would definitely lower it with a shock/spring set.

yup, yup I bought white/charcoal 280 for my first benz. Some say white is a little feminine. They just jealous they dont have one. Any way look for 18 in wheels. 17 are nice but you will want 18 in the end. Look at Bekkers avantegaurd grill. Will give more updated appearance, like others said clear corners from bosch. Check tirerack.com for all wheels, suspension, tires. -MOE

First of all, welcome to the forums!!
Your car color looks nice. This has already probably been said, but get the windows tinted, avantgarde grill, bosch clear corners, and rims would look nice!
Good Luck with your new ride, and let the modding begin!

Welcome, you bought a great car!!! I love my 95 C280. In fact, if you look at my collection below, it is my favorite. Fast enough, nice ride, and highly manueverable.
The avante garde grill definatley makes a difference as a nice inexpensive first mod.
What stock oprtions do you have? What kind of tires do you have? Good tires can make a real difference.
BTW, white is by far one of the best colors on any Benz.
