kompressor upgrade

Hello!
I am thinking of converting my 1996 C180 to supercharged using a overhauled eaton M45 supercharger that i am getting from canadiansupercharger.com. I have not got the supercharger yet, but can you "K" -owners pleas take a look under the hood of your fantastic cars and try to describe where the kompressor is located, how the belt is routed and so on? Maybe you have some pictures? Then i was thinking of a intercooler, is this standard in all kompressor boosted W202:s with 4 cylinder engines? Where is it mounted?

I did just installed the whole AC (Alex kit) (mine car did not have any originally), so if anybody got any questions about how to remove the dashboard on a 1996, i have some pictures and hopfully i can give some hints.

Regards / Calle

C180
I did think about fixing a supercharger on my C180 too, but it may not be so cost effective. How much are you getting the eaton SC for ?

As fas as I know, turbocharge is always cheaper but need quite some engineering work to get it fixed (manifold etc). Then when it comes to the question of intercooler, it depends on how much pressure you intend to set.

Our car is heavy, plus it is only 1.8litre, don't expect wonder from the upgrade. Having said that, the drivabililty will sure be much better .

I paid USD 540 for the completely overhauled (bearings, seals changed, tested) Eaton M45. I think im going lo-pressure, maybe 0.4 bar, this is about what they use in turbocharger-kits for C180. This way i can also keep original comresson-ratio in the engine. A slight increase in fuelpressure should be needed, If the original fuelpump can keep up with it, i will simply install a post-regulator and leave the original regulator as it is.

I think i will go for IC, as the adiabatic efficient on a Roots-type compressor, like Eaton M45, is about 60%.

That USD 540 for the Eaton M45 included shipping to Finland, and then i need to pay some taxex (>22%). Have not got it yet, but it should be on its way.
