I have met problem with this car. When the engine is cold( in the first start), and I engaged to D, the AT is good, the AT changed from gear 1 to gear 2 at RPM 1400, and gear 2 to 3 at nearly 2000RPM. But after 1km, the gear changed from 1 to 2 slowly about at 2700-2900 RPM.
I have changed all shift valves, seals inside were changed,.....
what's happen? someone knows this problem and tell me how?

Are you using a transmission fluid recommended by Mercedes benz? Although Dexron 2 are compatible according to some owner’s manual for your 722.. type auto transmission, but it can be really “picky”, and should indicate that is recommended by MB. I had the same problem once and it just a few days after my scheduled ATF change, every time the car reaches 181.4 d (83 C) Fahrenheit, the gear from 1-2 shifts is so delayed and sometimes it think that it is slipping from the band clutch. After checking again all connections leading to the transmission the condition are still the same and I even replace the ATF filter for the second time. And then it smack right on my face, I remember using for the first time an unpopular ATF with Dexron 2 compatibility but without MB recommendations. So I quickly change again a new (mobil) ATF and that solve my problem.
