Overheating, (thermostat?)

Well, my car has been running a good bit hotter than normal. It started a couple of days ago. I just replaced the thermostat this morning so now I just need to see if that fixed it. I now have two concerns. The first one is when I tightened the bolts to put the thermostat in I overtightened one of them and stripped it a little bit. It leaked a drop for a second but then it stopped. Should I just leave it like it is and hope I can get by or do I need a new water pump? Can I put lock-tight on that one bolt and see if that works?

My other concern is the Stant thermostat. It is made in China and is of rather poor quality compared to the Behr that came out of it. I got it at Advance Auto Parts because I didn't want to wait till Monday for a new one to come in. Should I go ahead and order a new one and put it in when I get it? If I replace it again I risk stripping the water pump some more. I can't make up my own mind so you all do it for me.

Here are the pictures of the thermostats. The Behr is silver and the Stant is gold.

If the pictures were better you could see how bad the build quality of the Stant one is. It's just stamped metal opposed to the welded Behr.

I'd replace it with OEM. It doesn't cost that much for added assurance. Just remember which direction the hole faces :p

It doesn't leak, it doesn't overheat, it's staying in there.
