Top speed of C280??

I wish.....

haha, no actually I made that on the computer.

Anyways, is there anything I can do about the amazing lack of low-end torque in my C280? I can't fully enjoy the RWD unless I can figure out how to smoke the tires. The only progress I've made is when it's wet outside- and I'm not a big fan of sliding in the rain. Suggestions? Is there a specific "smoky burout" gear I can select somewhere?

It's got a 4 speed automatic BTW

it all depends on how badly you want to kill your car!

most damage (not suggested): neutral drop.
so-so, not entirely good for the car: brake torque

gear choice: generally speaking, the lower the gear, the larger the cloud.

remember to turn off ASR also..... do the peel outs with left foot on brake and floor the gas, of course its not good for your tires, just BE CAREFUL!!! do it away from traffic!!

the low end torque around town sucks, the car was really made for top end speed, i bring it to 2 sometimes and ride 2nd gear sometimes for some grunt, or even first for very slow traffic and some torque.

ive only gotten the car up to 115-120, ran out of room and i wasnt sure about the tires handling it, it was starting to shake a little...

That's one of the things that frustrates me most about this car. The low end sucks. I've started drving around town in 3 just so I can pass cars without having to floor it to the kick down button. Driving it in 3 actually solves a lot of problems for me, still no off the line, but when I'm cruising around 35-40 the torque is there for me. I wish this damn thing would start off in 1st gear! The fastest I've taken my car is about 110, I wouldn't push it any further at the time cause my tires sucked. I want to try it again soon since I got my new H rated's.

Burnout...

As a new member, I thought I'd contribute. No, this is not my car.

This is from the PES page (www.pes-tuning.com). They are good guys. I had an A4 2.8 with their supercharger kit. Very nice kit.

theoretically 130mph for the us version.....however I've never been more than 120-125.....not enough room, and the roads are just not smooth enough for comfy 100+ driving.......

That's why I love Texas, there are lots of straight, smooth roads to go cruising at 100 mph for a few minutes. Just don't get caught by DPS!

plus the "M-B throttle response" makes it worse. you floor it and about a second later then you can feel the kick and see the tachometer rise
