Help - Front Suspension Diagnosis Needed !
Last week I hit a huge pot hole and a loud 'CLONK' happened. The front was still 'level', but an occasional 'knock' sound, and a 'knocky-grinding' when turning. Then yesterday, hit another pot hole and the front right side dropped about 6 inches. I haven't been able to jack the car up yet, but can anyone tell me if this is a sign that my ball joint detached from the shock or control arm?
I'm looking everywhere for similar reports, but can't find any. I'm really not familiar with how the whole suspension functions, but I'd like to know what I'm looking at for my repairs.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Turned out to be a broken coil spring. Looks like about $80-130 for a new spring, and $120 for a coil spring compressor tool. Not sure if I can use a universal tool and maybe rent one. Anyone know?
