Here's a new one (problem) for you...
1994 C280....
A couple days ago while getting on the freeway on ramp I accellerated a bit and the radio shut off....the ABS warning light came on...flashed a bit and then went away, but my radio still wouldn't work. So then I hit traffic later in the drive and the radio came on when the car came to a stop. But then when I pressed the gas pedal and moved the radio would shut off...and sometimes the ABS light would shine.
Then last night, (my first time driving at night after the problem showed up) when the rido went off, my interior dashboard lights would go in and out and flash....
The scariest part was that the car actually wanted to stall once....never had that happen before....it didn't happenagain but it was a scary feeling....
Well anyways, any ideas? I think I'm going to sound crazy to the mechanic when I try to explain what the problem is...
TIA!
That's why the ABS light was flashing because there was not enough power so the car shut off ABS...and the radio for that matter...
I found all this out this morning because the car wouldn't start and the tow truck guy said I needed a jump. I got a jump and he told me to change the battery right away so I drove to PEP boys and changed it there (the car wanted to stall on the way there, I was lucky to reached their parking lot).
Anyways, it looks like the battery has never been changed because it was an original mercedes battery. After changing the battery all is well except for the fact I need a code for the radio..
Happy Holidays to all.
while the car is running, disconnect the negative calbe from the batter and see if the same things happen (rev it up and lights dim and radio dies, etc). this means your alternator is running weak and is about to go out.
or take it to autozone for a free alternator test.

The new battery didn't help the next day.
Took it to the dealer and they replaced the altenator and some thing called an overcharge regulator or something like that...
Hope this helps someone in the future.
