What OEM-like options are there for in-dash CD?
Hi there:
Great forum you have here. Glad to be a new member. Just picked up a '99 C230K to add to the stable.
I need in-dash CD, but, really want an OEM-radio if possible. What options do I have? I see a few posts on radios people have installed, but, not sure if they specifically apply to my vehicle.
Is there a list someone has of what years/model #s, etc would work? I don't have a CD changer now, and don't care about having one, so that isn't an issue. I just want a new head-unit that will plug right in with the least amount of work. If it also had an AUX input that would be bonus.
Thanks in advance, and will post a pic sometime soon.
Take care and have a Happy Holidays!

how about this? Becker MONZA MP3, plug and play... accepts cellphone audio, has aux input (or cd changer), and output for additional amps....

thanks tiff and vas...but, a couple clarifications...
Will either/both of these just plug in to my 1999 C230K regardless of whether I have an external amp? I was told potentially that my car had a fiber optic external amp, which the Monza wouldn't work with. Meaning, I would have to run speaker wires from the Monza to wherever the amp is (to connect to the speakers), just to bypass the amp.
Is this true? if so, how can i "quickly" determine whether i have an outboard amp? where is it located? I have looked and don't see one, but, not sure if it is behind something or hidden.
I REALLY like the look of the Monza. Will certainly get that if I can. But, don't want to spend $500 on the deck and then ALSO have a bunch of rewiring to do.
thanks again!

monza is plug and play.....that means no cutting, splicing, wire harness, antenna adaptor etc... the monza will not interphase with factory fiber optic CD CHANGER (no such thing as fiber optic amp). If you have the optional BOSE amp it will work with that too... the audio 10 is a factory mb cd unit, no mp3 capabilities...
