its been done many times. either search on this forum or go to www.club202.com . generally speaking, you need to sand the chrome off to paint it whatever color you desire. same thing goes with the side moldings and body trims.

I went to a paintshop (t&l paint) which is very popular and they said that its almost impossible to paint over chrome and that sanding the chrome will take forever and a day and wont even come off. They basically said its impossible to paint over chrome. Do you know any shops from anywhere in the U.S. so i can contact them and ask them on the phone? Please help.

IMPOSSIBLE?? I think not!!!!

this is what you need to do, take apart the whole assembly, then frame, the grill and all the chrome strips it self. Have then paint the plastic grill insert. Then take all the chrome piece and have it either black chromed or powder coated. then put it all back together and NOW THE IMPOSSIBLE IS POSSIBLE.
