First Time MB Owner - '00 C230 Kompressor
I have been driving BMWs for ten years now. I love the E34 5-Series and have a few E34 M5s that I spend my free time working on.
My friend got back in town last week after working overseas and we went car shopping. He ended up with a very clean, high mileage 2000 C230 Kompressor. He is the third owner. The second owner who sold the car to him took it from 64k to 224k miles.
In my dealings with late 80s-mid-90s BMWs, I am used to establishing a small to-do-list rather quickly after a test drive. Most cars at that age/mileage end up being neglected. This car was well cared for and does not seem to need much. No lights on the dash or driveability issues so far.
We want to continue to maintain it, and are making a list of the no-brainers and would appreciate any input. We have access to a lift and will put it up in the air to inspect everything, but here is what we have so far:
Spark Plugs
Inspect Vacuum Lines/Intake System (Any weak spots?)
Engine Air Filter
Cabin Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Transmission Fluid and Filter
Engine Oil and Filter
Inspect Belts and Hoses
