hi there, i have just got this w202 on a 96 plate c200, but have a few annoying things that im hoping to sort out this weekend with some advice please.
firstly the car runs okay, but not perfect and it will not stay on tick over when i start it from cold, it will also try and conk out when i put it into gear. this stops after 2-3 mins of warming the engine up then it runs great. am i right in thinking its the maf that needs cleaning?
secondly i just noticed today i have a leak from the top of the passenger windscreen pillar, dripping on to the passengers seat. again would this be because of blocked drainage for the sunroof or am i missing something?
lastly i know i got a blow on the exhaust, sounds like a hot rod. i think the blow is roughly bulk head area, just behind the engine. can someone give me an idea of how many parts the exhaust comes in so i can get an idea of what part i need to replace.

Did you try to diagnose the car, codes will helps to narrow the issue..!

iv not had any warning lights come up on the dash it just splutters and dies if i dont keep my foot lightly on the accelerator pedal untill it warms up. only when its cold mind. cheers

 

Occasionally; warning light doesn't show-up with some issues..!, diagnose the car is more accurate to figure-out many hidden troubles,,

is the RPM playing after start-up..?

would an obd2 scanner work on these mate or are these to old? the revs only fluctuate very slightly but its slightly irratic like its a little low on revs untill its warm. you can see the needle moving slightly.

 

I think OBDII will work, is your OBD port in the Engine bay, or under the steering wheel..?

if your revs slightly moving, could be signs of air issue, did you change the MAF recently..?

im not sure mate. iv only had the car two days, seemed fine when i got it but started it yesterday morning and it had the cold start problem. reading things on the internet says to look at the maf first?
but the three problems i have noticed are the cold start, the leak coming down the inside of the passenger pillar dripping on the seat and the blowing exhaust. apart from that its a lovely car and pulls like a train when i put my foot down.
