no tool needed. i remember about a mo. ago i changed mine at night w/ a flashlight. i don't think it was too hard and trust me, i'm a novice at this stuff. just peel the clamps off slowly. they're probably just stuck.

Low beam out
I hate to have to admit this in public, but when mine burnt out last month I went to AutoZone. I know that's not a bad thing, my ego took a solid hit when I had to ask the very nice young lady if she'd ever changed one of these. "Sure" was her reply. She then replaced mine while "instructing" me as to the easiest way to execute the directions she nicely pointed out in the owners' manual.

easy as 1.2.3...
just changed my low beam bulb 2 days ago. i am also not very mechanically inclined, but the change was very easy. bought the bulb at the dealer for 6 bucks. autozone and pep boys wanted $13 and $14 respectively. the tricky part was getting that clamp back on.
