Computer Codes
Anyone know a way to clear computer codes out other than going to the dealer? I was a jack*ss the other day, while testing wires to hard wire my cell phone charger, I created a short in that circut. It happens to be the same circut that the SRS warning light is on. Therefore, my SRS light stays on for 45 sec. instead of 5 sec. indicating a malfunction code.

Id go to a dealer incase you damaged anything else ... Personally I'd like to be sure my SRS (airbag) is working properly :-)
Claim the light just came on, and Im sure its covered by warranty !

Unfortunately, SRS codes MUST be reset by the dealer!!
However, a 45 second SRS light indicates, more than likely, one of the front seat belt buckles is broken in some way...
Your SRS system is still operative, but i think it "cannot tell" if the seat belts are buckled, thus deploying the airbags even in mild impacts, where as it would not have if the seat belt was "knowingly" buckled.
Good luck... but it seems as though a trip to the dealer is in hand.
